What to Expect
Wine Ed courses provide up-to-date and relevant educational material that supplements the courses offered in the Cabrillo College Wine Studies Program. After completing a Wine Ed course, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of viticulture, viniculture, wine faults, world wines, and wine varietals
- Identify growing regions, varietals, labels, laws terroir, and wine production techniques
- Assess wines for their olfactory and flavor notes relative to specific growing regions as well as the geopolitical aspects of the region

California Wines
Understanding California wine is an important part of any wine student's education, whether you are new to wine, a lifelong enthusiast, or a professional in the wine industry. In this course you will learn all about California wine, including history, regions, laws, and much more. California Wines is a semester-long course and is required for the Certificate in Wine Studies and the AS Degree in Wine Studies.

Wine & Wine Service
This Cabrillo College Wine & Wine Service course provides an introduction to wine for the beginning wine student, culinary student, wine professional, and consumer enthusiast. This course (CAHM 172A) together with the companion course CAHM 172B, Sensory Evaluation of Wine Varietals form the foundation of the Cabrillo Wine Program. Wine & Wine Service is an 8-week course and is required for the Certificate in Wine Studies and the AS Degree in Wine Studies.

Sensory Evaluation of Wine Varietals
The Cabrillo College Sensory Evaluation of Wine Varietals course provides a survey of wine grape varietals, including a comparative sensory evaluation of wine varietals, focusing on terroir effect and world winegrowing regions. The course is intended for the beginning and intermediate wine student, culinary student, wine professional, and consumer enthusiast. This course (CAHM 172B) together with the companion course CAHM 172A, Wine and Wine Service, form the foundation of the Cabrillo Wine Program. Sensory Evaluation of Wine Varietals is an 8-week course and is required for the Certificate in Wine Studies and the AS Degree in Wine Studies.
